CB's is two and one-half levels, on the historical registry, with over 4600 square feet of retail history, and was built around 1920. C. B. & Carolyn Mathis purchased the building in 1978 when the only owners the public had known decided to retire. Today, DBA as “C.B’s Limited of Lancaster, Inc”. the formal wear store is located 30 miles south of Charlotte, N.C. At 207 South Main Street on U.S. Highway 521 in downtown Lancaster, S.C.

In October of 1999, C.B.'s son Craig, and his wife April took over ownership of the business.  C.B. stayed on for a few years as a consultant during the transition.  Since C.B.'s retirement in 2001, many changes have been made, but customer satisfaction is still our #1 priority.  

In 2001,  it was recognized that many areas in the country did not have access to such fashion forward and superior quality prom fashions.  Craig had always been a computer “nerd” at heart, but also still had an inherited eye for fashion.  He decided it might be the time to take a risk and combine the two.  With the observed void in the market, www.cbslimited.com was launched in 2001 to showcase and sell the same top quality merchandise that had always been sold in the our brick and mortar establishment.  For 30 years, CB's Limited has positioned itself as one of the Southeast largest prom retailers, as well as one of the web's most trusted resellers.  We always deliver a quality product at a fair price.
